Editor-in-chief of the Washington Examiner, Hugo Gurdon, claimed Monday that the border crisis under President Joe Biden is “going to get a whole lot worse.”

“The Department of Homeland Security itself says that the numbers could double from 5,000 a day to 10,000 a day once the title 42 disappears. We could be looking at as many as 5 million interceptions at the border,” he said on Fox News. Gurdon noted that during Biden’s first year, a record 2.1 million illegal immigrants were intercepted at the border, and by the end of his second year, 2.6 million illegal immigrants will have been arrested.

“There is a huge body of people who have come north from Central and South America who are just waiting for Title 42 to end,” he said, referring to a pandemic-era immigration policy that was recently vacated by Judge Emmet G. Sullivan. “They are praying Title 42 ends.”

“Most people are being intercepted, and then they’re being allowed to move into the country. There are some expulsions, but there’s nothing like what there used to be,” Gurdon continued. “There is no policy to secure the border despite Kamala Harris saying the border is secure and she is the supposed border czar.”

Gurdon added that Biden should visit the border, despite the White House believing the trip is unnecessary.

“The thing is that President Biden is totally enthralled to his Left-wing. The Left-wing knows as well as President Trump knew that one of the defining features of a nation is its border. The Left hates America, and it’s one of the reasons they basically want this border to disappear,” he said.
