WATCH LIVE: White House hold press briefing after Hunter Biden appears on Capitol Hill

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and National Security Council spokesman John Kirby are taking questions from the media, after President Joe Biden’s son Hunter made a brief appearance on Capitol Hill while skipping his deposition.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Eastern from the White House.

Hunter Biden’s appearance outside the U.S. Capitol Building was to deliver a prepared statement and insist on a public hearing from the House Oversight Committee, rather than a closed-door deposition. House Republicans now say they will begin contempt of Congress proceedings against the first son for disobeying the subpoena.
