Zelensky, Biden press conference live: Ukrainian leader to speak at White House during surprise visit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is meeting with President Joe Biden Wednesday afternoon and speaking at the White House in a surprise visit that comes 10 months after Ukraine was invaded by Russia earlier this year.
The surprise trip marks the first time Zelensky has left the country since Russia’s invasion began. The Ukrainian president is expected to meet with Biden for extended talks on Wednesday, after which the two will appear in a joint press conference at the White House where Biden is expected to announce additional military aid.

The high-stakes trip comes as Zelensky prepares his troops to fend off Russia’s winter offensive as the monthslong war drags on. After Zelensky and Biden conclude their talks at the White House, the Ukrainian president is expected to address Congress in a special address Wednesday evening.
