Eligible Crunchyroll users have 12 days left to file a claim in a $16 million settlement with the streaming service over alleged privacy violations.
Users of the streaming service accused the company of disclosing their personally identifiable information to third parties without their consent. Crunchyroll has denied it violated the law but agreed to the settlement to avoid further litigation on the matter. The deadline to file a claim in this settlement is Dec. 12.

To qualify for this settlement, a person must have been a registered user or viewed a website, app, or service owned, operated, or controlled by Crunchyroll from Sept. 8, 2020, through Sept. 20, 2023.
The final approval hearing for the settlement, in which subscribers will be able to speak about the proposed settlement, has been scheduled by the court for Dec. 19.
The payment amount each affected user will receive from the settlement is expected to be roughly $30, but it could be more or less than that estimate, according to documents filed with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The final amount will be announced once the settlement receives final approval.
