President Joe Biden is “closely” monitoring developments after a Wednesday explosion at the U.S.-Canada border, according to the White House.

At least two people were killed Wednesday after a car crashed into a structure at the Rainbow Bridge port of entry. The FBI’s joint terrorism task force is working with state authorities to monitor border crossings, raising the possibility that the incident was a terror attack, although this has not been confirmed.

Biden traveled to Nantucket, Massachusetts, on Tuesday evening, where he will remain through the holiday weekend. Preliminary reports about the incident were mixed, with some claiming the vehicle was traveling into the U.S., while others claimed it was traveling into Canada.

ABC News reported that surveillance video showed the vehicle being stopped at a border checkpoint before being transferred to a second checkpoint location, at which point it accelerated before crashing and exploding.
