Kamala Harris jokes she’s ‘got the vocabulary’ during speech on Apprenticeship Week

Vice President Kamala Harris joked that she has “got the vocabulary” on Thursday, though it is unclear what she meant.

Harris was partaking in a conversation about Apprenticeship Week, which was attended by people who are members of registered apprenticeship programs.

“Well, the press is here,” Harris said. “Ha ha ha! I got some words, though! I got the vocabulary, and my pronunciation is perfect! Ha ha ha ha.”

Later in the conversation, Harris said it was important for people “to look around the room and then ask who’s not in the room.” The vice president went on to state that people need to “go out to where folks are.”

“Be it where they are geographically, or where they are in terms of what they’re bringing in terms of life experience to the moment, to be able to connect with them and bring them in,” she said.

Harris’s delivery of speeches has come under scrutiny in the past. Former Arkansas Republican Gov. Mike Huckabee criticized the vice president for her inability to “put a sentence together” in August.

“The sad thing is our taxes are paying a speech writer to write that stuff for her,” Huckabee said. “That’s what makes it sad.”
