The briefing comes a day after President Joe Biden entertained a “pause” in the war between Israel and Hamas to “give time to get the prisoners out” in Gaza. The president made the suggestion when confronted by pro-Palestinian protesters during a speech in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Biden is expected to meet with the presidents of Chile and the Dominican Republic in separate meetings in the Oval Office on Thursday.
