Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer, an Israeli-American, made his MLB postseason debut Tuesday amid a war in a country that his family still calls home.

Kremer, 27, pitched for 1 2/3 innings, his shortest in-game stint on the mound, and wore a Star of David necklace, according to a report.

The pitcher discovered he was set to start Sunday.

“I still want to pitch, but, I mean, it’s going to be in the back of my head,” Kremer said before the start.

Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde recognized the circumstances the postseason rookie was set to perform under.

I “gave him my support and sympathies for him and his family that’s involved, and he seemed OK,” Hyde said before the game. “Obviously, he’s very disturbed and there’s a lot of things going on, but I didn’t sense that it was going to affect [him].”

“I think he’s really looking forward to pitching tomorrow so I didn’t think it was going to affect him,” Hyde added.

On the field, the Orioles fell short, losing 7-1 to the Texas Rangers, who completed their sweep over Baltimore to clinch their ticket to the American League Championship Series.
