President Joe Biden‘s reelection effort plans to canvas Latino voters in the Los Angeles metropolitan area ahead of the Sept. 27 Republican debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley.
The campaign has already invested significant sums toward targeting Latino voters, young men in particular, in key battleground states and is running English, Spanish, and Spanglish ads on television, radio, and digital properties.

Still, campaign officials announced Friday morning the launch of another English and Spanish ad, “La Diferencia,” as part of its $25 million ad campaign targeting Latino and black voters.
Meanwhile, campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison, and Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) will lead the campaign’s grassroots organizing in the state.
DNC officials noted the recent launch of its Spanish version of the Reach app, which plays into Democrats’ relational organizing strategy, to help connect Spanish-speaking households with the campaign’s surrogate network.
Like during the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, GOP debate, Democrats have also hired a plane to fly over Southern California trailing a banner “delineating what the GOP primary is about.” The party has also hired a billboard truck to circle the venue.

“Republicans talk a lot of game, but Joe Biden actually delivers for Latinos and middle class families,” Chavez Rodgriguez said in a statement. “That’s the difference and that’s the choice Americans will face in November 2024: between an agenda that is lowering costs, investing in our communities and businesses, and growing our economy versus MAGA Republicans whose platform only serves the wealthy and powerful. That very stark difference will be on display at next week’s Republican debate, and the campaign will be highlighting the difference between talk and action.”
“Next week, the American people will once again see the out-of-touch, extreme field of MAGA Republicans on full display,” Harrison added. “While they showcase their dangerous agenda, we’ll be there holding them accountable and mobilizing the Biden-Harris coalition around an agenda that has actually delivered for Latino communities.”
