Families visiting Disney World on Monday morning were surprised when they discovered a bear in a tree on the property.
The adult female black bear resulted in several attractions at Magic Kingdom, one of the parks at Disney World in Florida, to shut down temporarily. The bear has since been captured by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, according to a statement from the Florida agency.

“In most cases, it is best for bears to be given space and to move along on their own, but given this situation, staff are working on capturing and relocating the bear,” a statement from FWC read.
It is unknown how the bear managed to get on the park’s property.

Though it is not known where the bear was discovered, a majority of the park’s attractions that were closed — Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Hall of Presidents — were on the park’s west side.
“We are working with the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission and have made the decision to reopen Frontierland, Liberty Square and Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park,” Disney World said in a statement.
