The View host Ana Navarro slammed Republicans on Monday who expressed concern over President Joe Biden’s prisoner swap, trading a Russian arms dealer for WNBA player Brittney Griner.

“Tucker Carlson’s a celebrity in Russia,” she told her co-hosts. “Donald Trump is a celebrity in Russia. He claims they’re very good friends.”

She further claimed that the right wing had been silent during Paul Whelan’s imprisonment up until Griner’s release.

Navarro suggested that concerned Republicans “can get on a plane now and go get Paul Whelan” if they care so much. She also added that she was irritated by claims that identity politics was a driving force for the basketball player’s release over Whelan’s.

“What we have to realize with the prisoner exchanges is you’re always trading a good guy for a bad guy. That’s the nature of it. There’s always going to be dicey repercussions for things we do,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said of criticisms of the exchange.

“There’s no clean way to do this. I am glad that she is home, making it this partisan issue, it gets nothing accomplished,” she continued.

The View also played a clip of Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) criticizing the swap, which shocked some of the hosts, as the representative has sided with Democratic views on several occasions. “I’m a little surprised at you, too,” Sunny Hostin said of the congressman.

However, Griffin noted that she agreed with Kinzinger, a friend of hers.
