President Joe Biden will honor the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in Anchorage, Alaska, on Monday.
Biden is traveling from Vietnam on Monday to arrive in Alaska to deliver remarks at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

Vice President Kamala Harris will attend a 9/11 commemoration ceremony at the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City, while first lady Jill Biden will honor the anniversary at the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia.
Second gentleman Doug Emhoff will take part in the Flight 93 National Memorial Observance Wreath Laying Ceremony in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Some veterans have blasted President Biden for honoring 9/11 in Alaska instead of New York City. He is not the first president not to attend the ceremony in New York, but past presidents have either gone to one of the other 9/11 sites or given remarks from the White House lawn.
Biden is expected to begin his remarks at 4:45 p.m. Monday.
