Idaho taxpayers have just 22 days to claim tax rebates worth up to $600.

The first rebates were issued Sept. 23, with most going out by Thanksgiving, Idaho Gov. Brad Little told the Idaho Capital Sun. The 2022 Special Session Rebate was approved by the Idaho legislature and governor on Sept. 1, according to the Idaho State Tax Commission, intended to dampen the financial stresses on those struggling with rising inflation.

All full residents of Idaho in 2020 and 2021 who filed their individual income taxes by Dec. 31 qualify for the rebate. Nearly all of the rebates have been sent out already, but more will be sent as more residents qualify by filing their income taxes before the end of the year.

Individual filers can receive a maximum of $300, while couples filing jointly can receive a maximum of $600. Payments will be issued via direct deposit or via a check in the mail.
