Geraldo Rivera slams Tucker Carlson for making a ‘mockery’ of journalism

Geraldo Rivera slammed Tucker Carlson and his exit from Fox News, declaring Carlson made a “mockery of the tenets of journalism.
“He was very, very, very, powerful,” Rivera told Mediaite while explaining how Carlson was able to make content like his coverage of the Jan. 6, 2021, riots.

“In the discovery, in the Dominion lawsuit, you see how arrogant he was, how contemptuous he was of trying to do the right thing and losing the audience or how naive certain producers or certain reporters were when they complained of his bulls***.”
Carlson’s power and influence grew massively at Fox News, and he became “too big for his britches,” according to Rivera.
“The worst thing about Tucker, like I say, I have no beef against anyone, the worst thing about what he did was the ruthless pragmatism that he displayed,” he said.
Carlson did whatever the audience wanted, which led to “unforgivable” actions made for the audience, Rivera said.

“He made a mockery of the tenets of journalism,” he said. “Now, all of us have done sensational things from time to time.
“Highly visible people do things they look back on and they regret … but he seemed to me to willfully embrace something he did not sincerely believe in because it resulted in higher ratings. It stopped the hemorrhaging of the ratings from Fox to Newsmax.”
