Caitlyn Jenner has slammed the latest indictment of former President Donald Trump, claiming it is the first time “I have ever been ashamed” of the United States.

Trump and his lawyers, including Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman, were among 19 people named in a 41-count indictment that was released late Monday night, which accuses the defendants of unlawfully conspiring to conduct and participate in a “criminal enterprise” following Trump’s 2020 election loss in Georgia. Jenner, a supporter of Trump, claimed that the U.S. is turning into a Third World country through these indictments, with Monday’s indictment being the fourth one Trump has faced this year.

“I grew up a patriot,” said Jenner during an appearance on Fox News. “I was the first person to put up a flag at the finish line, the good old US of A. Why? Because I was so proud of my country. And I have to say today, and watching all this come down, this is the first time I have ever been ashamed of my country and what is going on. I mean, we look at elections in Venezuela, and other places in the world, these Third World countries. And we are turning into that country.”

Jenner added that the indictment is arriving 2 1/2 years after it should have been issued, and asked, “Why are they bringing them up now?”

“This is the weaponization of our government, and it’s a shame to see it happening here in the United States,” said Jenner.

The former president has already been indicted in three other jurisdictions this year. Trump was indicted in Manhattan in March on charges related to the alleged falsification of business records, federally indicted in Florida for his alleged mishandling of classified documents in June, and federally indicted in Washington, D.C., earlier this month for charges related to his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

A grand jury overseen by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis indicted Trump on 13 charges, including RICO violations. It poses another speed bump the former president has to deal with, as he is running for president again in the 2024 presidential election.

In the wake of the indictment, Trump announced he would hold a press briefing on the report on Monday in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he would go over a “detailed” report on the alleged voter fraud in the state during the 2020 election. Trump also said it should exonerate the 18 other people who were listed in the indictment and face their own charges.
