DONALD TRUMP INDICTED: THREE THINGS THE GEORGIA INDICTMENT REVEALS ABOUT FORMER PRESIDENT’S FUTURE
“If she had charged him three years ago, he would have said, ‘What a rush to judgment, there’s been no investigation, no one’s looked into this, and now they are just charging me for political reasons,'” Christie said, referring to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Trump has slammed Willis for her investigation into his efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia, which resulted in a grand jury charging him and 18 others on Monday night in a 41-count indictment that includes a violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
Prior to his indictment, Trump had posted on Truth Social questioning the timing of the anticipated criminal charges against him, asking “Why wasn’t this fake case brought 2.5 years ago? Election interference!”
After the indictment, Trump and his campaign released similar statements claiming the charges were “politically inspired” and were brought to interfere with the former president’s lead in the GOP primary race. However, Christie disagrees.

“Look, running for president is his choice. No one else is making him do it, but it is not an excuse not for the justice system to continue to operate,” Christie said.
The former president is facing three other criminal cases. Two are at the federal level, one involving his handling of classified documents and the other involving his efforts to overturn the 2020 election and the Jan. 6, 2021, riots. A third case is running out of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, which charged Trump with falsifying business records during the 2016 campaign.
