WATCH LIVE: Karine Jean-Pierre holds White House press briefing

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a press conference on Monday afternoon.

Jean-Pierre’s briefing will come in the days following the appointment of a special counsel to the Justice Department’s investigation of Hunter Biden, as well as the rising death toll in Hawaii due to wildfires on the island of Maui.

This week also marks the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act, the Democrats’ landmark clean energy investment legislation that lowered the cost of prescription drugs. Every single House and Senate Republican voted against the act.

President Joe Biden is touring the Southwest to promote the policy changes aimed at confronting climate change and creating new jobs.
