FBI agent shot man at DC Metro Center after altercation: Police

Authorities confirmed an off-duty FBI special agent shot a man following an altercation at the Metro Center station in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.
Ashan Benedict, executive assistant chief of police for the Metropolitan Police Department, did not reveal the identity of the FBI agent, who was the officer involved in the shooting, or the other man, who was killed in the altercation.
THREE PEOPLE SHOT AT WASHINGTON METRO STATION HOURS AFTER FBI-LINKED INCIDENT
The altercation began on the Glenmont platform in the metro station with the two men struggling before the two fell eight feet, with the off-duty FBI agent then opening fire shortly after.
One man was fatally shot in the chest, as previously reported, while the FBI agent sustained only minor injuries, per the bureau’s Washington field office. Benedict says he believes the agent was “the victim” in the situation, but the FBI has confirmed the incident is under review as per their own protocol.

The shooting resulted in the Red line at Metro Center being reduced to single-tracking for a short time Wednesday evening, while the Orange, Silver, and Blue line services were not affected.
Police are currently attending to a shooting that has left three injured at the Benning Road station in Washington, D.C., less than a day after the officer-involved shooting at Metro Center.
