Trump hosts QAnon conspiracy theorist at Mar-a-Lago event

Former President Donald Trump was seen hosting a prominent QAnon conspiracy theorist at his Mar-a-Lago home during an event on Tuesday night that sought to raise money to combat child trafficking.
Liz Crokin, a former journalist who is now known for amplifying far-right conspiracy theories, spoke at the fundraiser on Tuesday, according to posts shared to her Telegram account. During her remarks, Crokin discussed a number of conspiracies, such as the Pizzagate story, a debunked theory that claims several high-ranking Democratic officials are connected to an alleged human trafficking and child sex ring run out of a Washington, D.C., pizzeria.

Crokin also addressed recent controversies linked to fashion company Balenciaga, which recently came under fire for an ad campaign that featured children posing with plush bears and BDSM accessories.
Crokin has become a well-known figure among far-right circles after becoming an early voice for the QAnon conspiracy theory, which claims a global child sex trafficking ring conspired against Trump while he was in office.
Trump made an appearance at the event, later taking photos with Crokin that were posted online.

“You are incredible people and doing unbelievable work,” he said. “We just appreciate you being here, and I hope you’re going to be back.”
The event comes as Trump is already under tough scrutiny for hosting white supremacist Nick Fuentes and rapper Kanye West, who has made several antisemitic comments in recent weeks, at his Mar-a-Lago home in November.

That meeting sparked widespread criticism from members of both parties who called on the former president to denounce the comments from West, who now goes by Ye.
“I heard a lot of commotion down here, and I said, ‘Who the hell is that?’” Trump told the crowd on Tuesday.
