Roughly 825,700 Arizona residents participate in SNAP, accounting for 11% of the state’s population, according to the most recent data compiled by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. About 41,206,900 people, or 12% of the national population, receive food stamps as of fiscal 2022.

In the Grand Canyon State, benefits are sent out in the first 13 days of each month, and the date they are received depends on the first letter of a beneficiary’s last name, according to the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

A household of eight can receive a maximum payment of $1,691, while a household of four is allotted a maximum of $939. Additionally, a household of one receives up to $281. SNAP adds up to $211 for each additional member in an Arizona household.

A household of one or two members receives a minimum payment of $23 in monthly benefits.
