Stimulus update: See who qualifies for direct tax rebate to Pennsylvania residents worth up to $975

Pennsylvania residents could be eligible for a direct payment worth up to $975 as the state works to roll out property tax and rent relief rebates worth $140 million in total.
Under the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, residents are already receiving between $250 and $975 in stimulus payments.

Eligible residents must be 65 or older, a widow or widower aged 50 or older, or a resident with a disability who is at least 18 years old. The income limit for the program is $35,000 for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters. Half of Social Security payments for a homeowner or renter are excluded from the income limit.
The $140 million comes from the American Rescue Plan Act. Checks started going out to eligible Pennsylvanians on July 1, with the maximum standard rebate being worth $650. Some owners can qualify for supplemental rebates of up to $975.

Rebates will take four to six weeks from when a homeowner or renter files a claim. Payments can either arrive via direct deposit or will be mailed as a check.
Eligible Pennsylvania residents have until Dec. 31 to file a claim online at revenue.pa.gov.
