Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is hard at work preparing for the potential cage match between him and Twitter owner Elon Musk, posting to social media he has now earned a blue belt in jujitsu.

Zuckerberg’s announcement on Sunday comes after he shared a video of him learning the martial art from “jujitsu legend” Mikey Musumeci. Zuckerberg and Musk agreed to a cage match between each other last month.

“Congrats Dave Camarillo on your 5th degree black belt,” Zuckerberg wrote on social media. “You’re a great coach and I’ve learned so much about fighting and life from training with you. Also honored to be promoted to compete at blue belt for Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu San Jose team.”

Walter Isaacson, Musk’s biographer, said on July 17 that the supposed cage fight between Musk and Zuckerberg is really just a metaphor for the online battle between Twitter and Threads, Meta’s alternative to Twitter. Isaacson added that an actual fight between the two men is unlikely and that Musk’s attitude toward Zuckerberg is due to the South African’s impulsive nature and “demon mode.”

“He really loves it, and he loves putting out impulsive tweets,” Isaacson said. “He loves the contentiousness of it. You know his favorite line in a movie is, ‘Are you not entertained?’ That final line of the Gladiator, and that’s what [is] distinguishing Twitter for better and for worse against things like Threads.”

The online rivalry between Musk and Zuckerberg comes as Musk is in the process of rebranding Twitter to “X.” The billionaire stated we will “bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,” revealing the platform’s new logo shortly after.

Linda Yaccarino, the CEO of Twitter, said the social media platform’s rebranding to “X” will be “the future state of unlimited interactivity.”
