Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) argued against the Republican Party’s claim that it is being censored.
Plaskett claimed that Republicans believe that they are being censored “anytime you point out untruths,” and that Democrats “are stopping people from speaking,” during an appearance on MSNBC’s Inside with Jen Psaki.

“It’s not that we are not stopping you from speaking, people can speak, but we’re also going to give the American people the truth so they can have science, and facts, and history, against wild, outlandish claims that Republicans are trying to get,” said Plaskett. “It’s not only going to keep them from going to the polls or suppressing vote or telling untruths, but is also really very detrimental to the American people.”

The Virgin Islands Democrat also discussed recent comments made by Robert Kennedy Jr., who was filmed referencing studies that suggest COVID-19 was “ethnically targeted” and that it “attacks certain races disproportionately.” Plaskett further claimed that Kennedy’s statements and ideas were “anti-Semitic” and “racist,” adding that Kennedy has tried to “break down Americans’ belief in the rule of law, in truth.”
Kennedy has defended his comments during a recent testimony he gave to Congress Thursday, arguing that people calling his statements racist and anti-Semitic are trying to censor him “through smears, misinterpretations of what I said, through lies.”
