Democratic 2024 presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. has called for a “real investigation” on President Joe Biden and his family.

Kennedy made his statement during an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures when Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked him about corruption in government, specifically about bank records from the House Oversight Committee showing that Biden “took in millions of dollars. Kennedy said that while he has avoided criticizing the president in an attempt to “bring people together,” he did express concern over the new revelations from Congress in the past week.

“I think the issues are now coming up are worrying enough that we really need a real investigation of what happened,” Kennedy said during his televised appearance. “I mean, these revelations about the, where you had Burisma, which is, you know, a notoriously corrupt company that paid out, apparently, $10 million to Hunter and his dad. If that’s true, then it is really troubling. So I think that that needs to be investigated.”

Kennedy’s statement comes after sources previously told the Washington Examiner that Mykola Zlochevsky, the Ukrainian owner of Burisma, discussed an alleged bribe of $5 million to Biden and of $5 million to his son, Hunter Biden. The sources said Zlochevsky said he believed it would be difficult to unravel the alleged bribery scheme for at least 10 years because of the number of bank accounts involved.

In June, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) revealed on the Senate floor that a largely unredacted version of the bureau’s FD-1023 confidential human source form said that “the foreign national who allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter Biden allegedly has audio recordings of his conversations with them — 17 such recordings.”

Kennedy was also asked about corruption in the Department of Justice, as two IRS whistleblowers testified before the Oversight Committee earlier this week on their past testimony, which alleged the DOJ significantly interfered with their criminal investigation into Hunter Biden. Kennedy said the concerns about corruption among investigators in the United States is something “that every American needs to be worried about,” as the country’s federal agencies used to be above politics but have since “become weaponized as political instruments.”

“And that, again, is another really damaging trend for our democracy,” Kennedy said.

Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the Oversight Committee, has stated he does not want to see a special counsel appointed by the DOJ to investigate Hunter Biden because his committee, along with House Ways and Means and Judiciary Committees, are already doing the work. Comer said he has “no confidence” in either special counsels or Attorney General Merrick Garland.

On Thursday, House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) declared the Democratic Party “the party of censorship” after a tense hearing on censorship, which Kennedy attended.
