Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called two House GOP-led hearings on a “ridiculous clown show,” as Republicans investigate the alleged politicization and “weaponization” of the federal government and related departments.

Last week, the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees held two separate hearings: House Oversight invited two IRS whistleblowers to testify on their experience in the Hunter Biden investigation, while House Judiciary heard from Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about the federal government’s alleged role in censorship.

Pelosi said in a Sunday interview with Dana Bash on CNN’s State of the Union that she is not confident that there was an absence of politics in the two hearings.

“What a ridiculous clown show, again, on behalf of the Republicans,” Pelosi said. “What do they do, bring in [Robert F.] Kennedy talking about censorship that he’s being censored — as he’s talking to the world in a Congressional hearing.

Pelosi also referenced Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) showing photographs of naked women and Hunter Biden performing sexual acts during a House Oversight Committee hearing about the IRS investigation into the younger Biden’s tax records, saying it had “nothing to do with the essence of” the hearing.

Biden’s lawyer is now demanding that Greene face a Congressional Ethics investigation for showing the explicit pictures.

IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler testified about the alleged mishandling of the Hunter Biden investigation by the Justice Department. However, Pelosi said she believes a political agenda from Republicans prevented them from being able to give their testimonies.

“I have respect for whistleblowers, but the fact is, from the basis of that hearing, they didn’t even have a fair shot at what they came to say in light of the clown show that was going on,” Pelosi said. “No, I’m not confident about what the whistleblowers said.”
