IRS agents Gary Shapley and Joe Ziegler shared their “disappointed” reactions following their hearing before the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

Shapley and Ziegler appeared for an interview on SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show on Thursday, the day after their hearing. Both concluded that the hearing did not meet their expectations of staying on topic during the hearing.

“From my perspective, being someone who has liberal beliefs — I am a Democrat — I was kind of disappointed. I was kind of disappointed that the other side of the aisle didn’t care about what we came there to say,” Ziegler said. “That’s the thing that struck me the most from yesterday is that it seemed like there were certain people that really didn’t care we had to present it to Congress, and that disappointed me.”

Kelly pointed out that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) presented photos from Hunter Biden’s laptop of himself engaging in sex acts. Rep. Shontel Brown (D-OH) addressed the pair with questions about black people being audited by the IRS more often than nonblack people.

“Being in this hearing yesterday, I thought that there were good questions from both sides and there were unfair questions from both sides. Also, there were opportunities where I was asked a question, and I just wasn’t allowed to finish,” said Shapley, who identified himself as a conservative. “I guess it’s just business as usual there. I just took it with a grain of salt and focused on the facts. At the end of the day, they just couldn’t attack the facts because they can’t take the facts.”

In the days ahead of the hearing, Ziegler opted to remain anonymous. He admitted to Kelly that he did not vote for Biden because of what he knew pertaining to his family in anticipation that he could be asked if he voted for the president should the issue move to a trial.

Shapley, on the other hand, promised he had never contributed to a campaign or had a political sign on his lawn. When his identity and political ideology were revealed by news outlets, he claimed his mother did not previously know he was a registered Republican.
