The final play of a Minnesota high school football championship was an answered prayer as a hail mary led New London-Spicer High School to victory in the waning seconds of the game.
Quarterback Blake Schultz threw the ball from near midfield approximately 35 yards to wide receiver Grant Paffrath, who then lateraled the ball to wide receiver Brycen Christensen, who ran into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown, beating Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Senior High School 27-26.

The clutch game-winning play made the Top 10 list on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Saturday, landing at the top position for the best plays in all of sports for the day, according to the “worldwide leader in sports.”

Saturday’s Class 3A state championship is the second for New London-Spicer, with its other state football championship coming in 2009.
The game was held at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the Minnesota Vikings clinched a victory in the NFL playoffs via the Minneapolis miracle nearly five years ago.
