Officials on Long Island, New York, delivered an update on the capture of a suspect in connection to a series of unsolved killings on Friday, hours after the suspect was taken into police custody.
The suspect has been identified as Rex Heuermann, 59, who allegedly murdered multiple people on Long Island between 2010 and 2011, law enforcement officials said Friday. Local police found at least 11 human remains in connection to the case since then, according to NBC News.

Heuermann has been charged with the murder of three people and pleaded not guilty during an appearance in court on Friday, according to reports.
