The Netherlands advance to face the winner of today’s other match between Argentina and Australia.

Leading up to the game, the Netherlands toted two wins against Qatar and Senegal and a draw with Ecuador. Dutch head coach Louis van Gaal also confirmed his players, including star midfielder Frenkie de Jong, were ill with the flu before the knockout-stage game, and gave the team a day of rest ahead of the game.

The U.S., meanwhile, had one win against Iran and shared two draws with the U.K. and Wales. Its star Christian Pulisic was cleared to play in the match and even started against the Netherlands despite suffering a pelvic contusion in scoring the winning goal against Iran earlier in the tournament.
