Lines are forming quickly at a chain of gas stations offering fuel for $1.776 for the Fourth of July.

Sheetz, a 700-plus store chain with locations in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and North Carolina, is offering the stellar deal to mark the year the Declaration of Independence was adopted.

LET INDEPENDENCE DAY MEAN INDEPENDENT THOUGHT, NOT GROUPTHINK

With the average price of a gallon of gas sitting at $3.52, according to AAA, the roughly half-off deal is drawing a big response.

This Fourth of July marks 247 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed, but the gas lines look more like something from the 1970s than the 1770s.

The company had offered limited fuel discounts on past July Fourth holidays, but this time it applies to all fuel except for diesel. The promotion will last all day or until supplies run out.

Sheetz has also run discounts on other holidays, such as offering some gas for $1.99 at Thanksgiving.

Drivers can learn more about the promotion at their local store via the Sheetz mobile app and website.
