All that aid is now gone. The final batch of $1,500 direct stimulus payments will be sent to Colorado taxpayers next month, according to the Colorado Treasury Department.

Due to Colorado’s Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, which holds that the state cannot spend more taxpayer money than it generates, every state resident who filed taxes before June 30 will receive a Colorado Cash Back/TABOR refund check of $750 for individuals and $1,500 for joint filers.

STIMULUS UPDATE: DEADLINE TO CLAIM TAX REBATES WORTH $600 IN IDAHO IN 29 DAYS

The Colorado Cash Back website stipulates that Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO) signed Senate Bill 22-233 in the summer so taxpayers could receive their checks that summer. However, many residents haven’t received their checks as of yet, particularly those who filed by the Oct. 17 extension. Colorado Treasurer Dave Young assured those worried about their checks that their money will come but that the problem is they are printing so many checks that the printer can’t keep up with the demand.

“I think they are printing about 250,000 a day,” Young told Fox 21 News. “So when you think about the number of checks going out, people will have to be patient, but the goal is to get them out by the end of August. We’ve been telling people, if you haven’t seen it by the end of September, you should get on the Colorado Cash Back program website and find the number and make a call.”
