President Joe Biden will address the country to discuss his administration’s next move after the Supreme Court ruled that his student loan forgiveness plan was unconstitutional.

Biden called the Supreme Court decision “unthinkable” in a tweet on Friday.

“This fight isn’t over. I’ll have more to announce when I address the nation this afternoon,” Biden tweeted.

The high court ruled 6-3 to cancel Biden’s plan to wipe away $400 billion in student debt. The Supreme Court has been toiling over the constitutionality of Biden’s plan for months after six Republican-led states sued the administration.

Student loan payments were paused at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that pause has been extended several times throughout the Trump and Biden administrations. Now, after a three-year moratorium, interest will start accruing on Sept. 1, and payments will be due beginning in October.

Biden will address the nation at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
