EXCLUSIVE — The National Republican Congressional Committee unleashed its latest attack against President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden on Thursday, hoping to build on its efforts to boost fundraising ahead of the 2024 cycle.
The NRCC has begun selling limited-edition “Biden & Son” T-shirts, criticizing the president for his administration’s efforts to control the economic narrative as being under the control of “Bidenomics,” a catchall term referring to the policies implemented by the Biden administration. The fundraising campaign ties that message to reports of Hunter Biden’s business dealings with a Chinese Communist Party-linked company that flowed millions of dollars to Biden family accounts.

“When the President talks about ‘Bidenomics,’ he means the Bidens get richer and the rest of us pay the price,” NRCC national press secretary Will Reinert told the Washington Examiner.

The T-shirt reads “Biden & Son” on the front side, with three locations listed under their names — Wilmington, Delaware; Washington; and Beijing — alluding to the business deals conducted by the president’s son. The backside of the shirt reads “Selling Out America since 1973,” referring to the year Joe Biden was sworn into the Senate.
The shirts will be distributed to those who donate to the NRCC, which acts as the main campaign arm for House Republicans.
The T-shirt comes in response to whistleblower testimony that revealed WhatsApp messages between Hunter Biden and key intermediaries with the since-defunct Chinese energy conglomerate CEFC, whose chairman, Ye Jianming, is tied to the Chinese military. The messages show Hunter Biden alluding to his father in a text thread in July 2017 as “the man,” suggesting he was sitting next to Joe Biden when the exchange occurred.
“I am sitting with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment has not been fulfilled,” Hunter Biden wrote in one of the July 30 messages. “I am very concerned that [Ye] has either changed his mind and broken our deal without telling me or that he is unaware of the promises and assurances that have been made have not been kept.”
“And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the Chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction,” he wrote in another message.

Just days later, Hunter Biden and his associated businesses soon received about $5 million in payments from CEFC in 2017 and 2018, with Chinese payments quickly beginning to roll in, according to banking findings from a 2020 Senate report.
The president has denied any involvement in the matter, prompting backlash from congressional Republicans who have vowed to investigate the matter more thoroughly.
