At this meeting, the final report and recommendations will be approved and sent to legislatures and Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) for consideration. Several parts of the plan, including the proposal to send reparations payments of up to $1.4 million, are expected to face an uphill battle in the state Assembly and Senate.
