Tucker Carlson gets cease-and-desist letter from Fox News

Tucker Carlson received a cease-and-desist letter from Fox News as his new series continues to boom on Twitter.
Carlson, who was removed from Fox News earlier this year, has drawn at least 169 million views from the first two episodes of his show on the platform, according to a report.

The cease-and-desist letter reads “NOT FOR PUBLICATION” in bold letters, the report noted.
Carlson has purportedly been engaged with his former network in a contract battle, and Fox News continues to pay its former host.
The network also maintains that Carlson’s content is exclusive under its brand until Dec. 31, 2024.
The 54-year-old argues his Tucker on Twitter content is protected under the First Amendment and that Fox News made material breaches of his contract, according to the report.

“Fox News continues to ignore the interests of its viewers, not to mention its shareholder obligations,” Carlson’s lawyer Harmeet Dhillon said in a statement. “Doubling down on the most catastrophic programming decision in the history of the cable news industry, Fox is now demanding that Tucker Carlson be silent until after the 2024 election.”
“Tucker will not be silenced by anyone. … He is a singularly important voice on matters of public interest in our country, and will remain so.”
