A game between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium was rescheduled as announced by the Yankees. It will take place on Thursday, June 8, at 4:05 p.m. as part of a single-admission doubleheader.

Millions of people in the United States are under air quality alerts as wildfire smoke from Canada affects East Coast cities. At least 16 states issued air quality alerts, affecting 75 million people across the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast, the Environmental Protection Agency reported.

The federal AirNow fire and smoke map indicated air was considered “unhealthy” across the eastern region of the U.S.

Schools and activities in affected cities are canceling events, with New York City Public Schools canceling all outdoor events for the remainder of Wednesday, along with the District of Columbia Public Schools following similar measures.

Some airports are facing delays due to poor visibility, according to reports from LaGuardia.
