Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton calls impeachment an ‘act of political retribution’

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) has criticized the state’s House of Representatives for impeaching him, claiming he was “prohibited” from presenting evidence in the impeachment trial.

“The fact that I was prohibited from presenting evidence to defend myself reveals that this shameful process was curated from the start as an act of political retribution,” Paxton said during a press conference Tuesday.
