President Joe Biden was quick to seize on the technical difficulties of Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) campaign launch on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk. He pounced on the opportunity in a fundraising effort for The Biden-Harris campaign.
Biden tweeted minutes after the campaign announcement was expected to go live. “This link works,” he wrote, directing users to a Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris reelection fund. DeSantis’s audio-only event appeared to be going in and out of service before the discussion was moved to a new Twitter Space.

Biden started his 2024 campaign with over $2.2 million in cash on hand from his campaign and joint fundraising committee, Biden Victory Fund, according to OpenSecrets.

Expected to launch at 6 p.m., the event had over 300,000 users listening in the first hour.
