Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said election night was disastrous for Republicans, and that now Democrats have their eyes set on revenge.
“We’re going to find out in a hurry that Democrats have no illusions of actually governing,” Concha said Wednesday on Fox and Friends First. “Affordability? That’s going to be pushed to the side because they smell the GOP chum in the water.”
Democrats flipped seats in Maine, Texas, South Carolina, Iowa, Ohio, and North Carolina. While the Mississippi and Alaska races haven’t been called as of Wednesday morning, Democrats have already secured the majority in the Senate and the House. Concha called the Democratic wins a “blue tsunami wrapped in a Cat 5 hurricane.”
“I mean, to lose in Kansas and in South Carolina, and the way they were wiped out in Texas, yeah, big cause for concern,” Concha said.
Concha said Democrats are going to become “sharks” with “laser beams” on their head focused on going after President Donald Trump.
“That’s, they believe, is what their core constituents want,” Concha said. “They want revenge, they want to see not just Donald Trump, but the Trump family, Elon Musk, anybody who is in this administration, Pete Hegseth, you’re going to see a lot of impeachments.”
After winning big across the country in the midterm elections, Democrats now hold the power to impeach Trump. Concha added that while Democrats haven’t said what they planned to impeach the president over, some predictions believe it may be over the White House ballroom after the president didn’t obtain congressional approval to fund the project.
“A show about nothing, it won’t matter, but it will dominate the news cycle for the next two years,” Concha said. “Which, in the end, could have a boomerang effect on Democrats.”

Socialists within the Democratic Party also saw some wins, and Concha said they hold all the power in the party’s future because they have money and momentum. Concha said Sen.-elect Abdul el Sayed’s (D-MI) win could pave the way for a presidential run by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
“AOC now just saw what happened in Michigan with el Sayed and said, ‘Ah, socialism is a national brand, now I’m going to run [for president],’” Concha said. “And that’s probably going to be the matchup: You’re going to have AOC vs. Marco Rubio, vs. JD Vance or Ron DeSantis now.”
