Where the top 2028 contenders are heading ahead of the midterm elections

.

Several top 2028 presidential contenders are traveling to various states ahead of the midterm elections. Here is where they will be from now to next week.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) hosted three campaign events in Michigan for Senate candidate Abdul el Sayed on Friday. Her last stop of the day was a “Latinos for Abdul” rally in Detroit.

As she toured Michigan, Ocasio-Cortez donated $1 million to el Sayed’s campaign. The two are ideologically aligned because of their progressive beliefs.

Vice President JD Vance is set to travel to North Carolina on Monday to hold campaign events in Asheville and Hendersonville. President Donald Trump will be in the state the following day.

Beyond in-person appearances, Vance will be on television for a town hall hosted by CBS News. The pretaped interview is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) will be across the country in New Hampshire on Saturday to show support for the state’s Democratic candidates. He is visiting Nashua, Exeter, Concord, and Manchester all in one day.

After the weekend trip, Newsom is expected to hold several campaign events in California next week. The focus of these events is on helping Democrats secure competitive congressional districts that were redrawn after voters approved Proposition 50 last November.

Instead of campaigning, Gov. Andy Beshear (D-KY) will be promoting his book, Go and Do Likewise: How We Heal a Broken Country, in Beverly Hills, California, next Friday.

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) will appear at a campaign rally on Saturday in Cobb County, Georgia, where he will be joined by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Ossoff is focusing on his reelection campaign against Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA). Earlier this week, Ossoff said he has “zero interest” in a 2028 presidential run if he’s reelected to the Senate this fall.

Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is scheduled to appear on Saturday in Matthews, North Carolina, where he will be canvassing for former North Carolina Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper as Cooper runs for the Senate. Buttigieg will then head to two more events in Charlotte that day.

On Monday, Buttigieg will be holding a get-out-the-vote rally for Democratic candidates in Henrico County, Virginia. And on Wednesday, he will be participating in a virtual town hall concerning dark money in Montana.

HOW 2028 CONTENDERS ARE BOOSTING THEIR BONA FIDES DURING MIDTERM SEASON

Rahm Emanuel, a former congressman and a former White House chief of staff, will head to Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday to attend an IndyFest panel. Hosted by the Nevada Independent, IndyFest is considered Nevada’s premier policy and politics conference.

Govs. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) and JB Pritzker (D-IL), two other potential 2028 presidential candidates, don’t have specific travel plans confirmed for this weekend or next week.
