‘The View’ expected a ‘total Trump-bashing session,’ but Thom Tillis did not deliver: Joe Concha

.

Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha slammed ABC’s The View over the hosts’ reaction to Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) defending President Donald Trump.

“I think the hens on The View, guys, expected a total Trump-bashing session, which basically makes up 99.9% of the program these days,” Concha said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First Tuesday.

Tillis sparred with co-host Whoopi Goldberg on Monday about Trump’s policies.

Goldberg referred to Trump as “you know who,” and called out Tillis for not supporting some of Trump’s policies, “Yet you still say you support him and call him an amazing political talent. What am I missing?”

“The fact that he’s won two national elections,” Tillis said. “He creates these coalitions, he resonates with people, and I think he’s a great political force,” he continued.

Concha pointed out Tillis’s critical stance of Trump, and highlighted his new book titled How to Lose Friends and Antagonize Presidents.

“They [The View] thought somebody who would give them all the answers they wanted to hear and instead actually held himself pretty well and made the show interesting,” Concha said.

Concha noted that Tillis has said “some very highly personal stuff about the president very recently” and “opposes him on the SAVE America Act.”

The act would require stronger documentation for people registering to vote to prove they are U.S. citizens. Trump has pushed for the SAVE America Act to pass, even refusing to sign the historic 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act in protest, and letting it become law without his signature.

Concha maintained that, regardless of Tillis’ views, at the end of the day, he is still a Republican.

TILLIS REVEALS ‘BIGGEST REGRET OF MY CAREER’ IN NEW BOOK ON TRUMP 2.0

“The gals on The View, they still live in a world of October 2016, when no one, especially them, thought that Trump could win the presidency,” Concha said.

Concha said the reason Trump was elected a second time, to Tillis’s point, was because “people became nostalgic” for Trump’s policies.
