President Donald Trump said that Canada-based aircraft manufacturer Bombardier will no longer be allowed to sell in the United States as the trade tiff with Canada continues to escalate.
Trump posted on Truth Social about the company on Sunday afternoon. Bombardier is one of the world’s biggest producers of business jets, and Trump said that the company would have to build in the U.S. if it wants access to U.S. markets.

“NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES!” Trump declared. “Their products aren’t good enough! Over 50% of their revenue comes from the United States — They live off American Buyers, American Companies, American Airports, and American Service — All while Canada blocks our GREAT American Banks, and Companies, throughout the U.S.A.”
Trump also mentioned the U.S.-based Gulfstream, which is Bombardier’s biggest competitor.
“They even blocked Gulfstream Aerospace from doing business in Canada — Completely unjust and unfair!” Trump continued. “That Era is OVER! If they want our Market, they must build here, and stop treating America like a ‘piggybank.’ BUY AMERICAN. FLY ON AMERICAN AIRLINERS. ENJOY AMERICAN LIQUOR AND BEVERAGES. SAIL ON LAKE AMERICA. AMERICA FIRST!”
The two companies have been in competition for decades in the private jet space.
The Monday afternoon post by Trump suggesting that Bombardier will no longer be able to sell in the U.S. comes after several other provocative Labor Day messages by the president, including posts suggesting that New Mexico should be renamed “New America.”
He posted eight different maps of the Southeastern U.S. showing New Mexico renamed “New America.” One of the images depicted the entirety of North America, including Canada, Mexico, Cuba, some Caribbean islands, and Greenland as being part of the United States.

The Washington Examiner reached out to the White House for comment on the posts.
The latest message about Bombardier comes amid a trade feud with the U.S. and Canada. Last month, the Trump administration imposed 50% tariffs on a wide array of Canadian goods. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney responded by saying the country would match U.S. tariffs “dollar for dollar, rate for rate.”
