President Donald Trump led a tour of about 30 children and other special guests around the White House‘s helipad and ballroom construction sites.
“Now, I don’t know if anybody wants to do this, but I’m going to be walking down here in about two minutes to meet with the people that are building the heliport, and you’ll see right alongside of it the great structure that’s rising right next to the White House, and that’s going to be the ballroom/military complex,” Trump told a crowd in the Rose Garden on Monday. “It’s incredible.”
The group was gathered at the White House for an event to underscore the Trump administration’s work regarding expanding school choice and other childhood policies, which coincided with the start of the school year in Washington, D.C.

“The kids could see construction,” the president said. “It’ll be a large group, but it’s a large pad, and you’ll be able to see some very hardworking people.”
He added, “If you want to follow me with the children, I think it’ll be very interesting.”
