Fairfax County Police arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 42-year-old woman in Great Falls, Virginia, on Wednesday.
The law enforcement agency said its officers arrested Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos on Wednesday, charging him in connection with the murder of Carmen Lizet Puch, the woman who was found stabbed to death in a Great Falls parking lot on Monday.
Officers from Fairfax County’s McLean Police District responded to a call from a jogger who discovered Puch’s body near her 2011 Honda Civic at Difficult Run Park on Monday morning at around 6:43 a.m. Puch, from Reston, Virginia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the County’s Major Crimes Bureau have been investigating the homicide, which took place at the parking lot connected to the Difficult Run Trail, a well-known and popular trail for joggers and hikers in Northern Virginia. The trail is part of the Great Falls National Park
The agency said it would provide “more information” on Wednesday afternoon.

Fairfax County Police Captain Jason Chandler told the media on Monday that “there’s no immediate indication that this was a random act.”
According to NBC4, Cedillos-Campos and Puch were reportedly co-workers at a restaurant.
