Rapper Nicki Minaj announced her endorsement of Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) in Florida’s GOP gubernatorial primary over the weekend and urged her fans to support him ahead of Tuesday’s vote.
“You have my vote. Barbz, please support him however you can. #TheGoodGuys,” Minaj wrote on X on Saturday.
Minaj’s support comes just two days before Florida Republicans head to the polls to select their nominee in a crowded gubernatorial primary. Donalds is competing against several Republicans, including Lt. Gov. Jay Collins (R-FL), Former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives Paul Renner, and businessman James Fishback.
Donalds has emerged as the leading candidate in the Republican primary and has received the endorsement of President Donald Trump. Donalds is leading with 49% support among likely Republican voters, well ahead of Collins at 18%, Renner at 8%, and Fishback at 4%, according to a James Madison Institute Poll.
Minaj’s endorsement marks another step in her increasingly visible political alignment with Trump and his allies. Minaj has become an outspoken supporter of the president after previously maintaining a more independent political persona. She has called herself a Trump supporter and appeared at Trump administration events in recent months.

Donalds has campaigned on his “Defending the Florida Dream” agenda, emphasizing affordability, economic growth, and maintaining Florida’s conservative direction.
His campaign has also highlighted proposals aimed at lowering healthcare and insurance costs for Floridians. Donalds is running to replace term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
