Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) is speaking Tuesday afternoon at a press conference regarding a U.S. military veteran who was recently released from a Russian prison.

Markey is scheduled to speak at 3:30 p.m. after it was revealed that former Marine Robert Gilman is coming back to the United States after spending four years in a Russian prison. Gilman’s sister has credited President Donald Trump and Markey for bringing about the veteran’s release, saying he was gravely ill and at risk of dying due to troubling conditions at the prison.
