The son of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was arrested on child sexual exploitation charges related to an explicit video of a 17-year-old girl, Colorado authorities said on Monday.

Tyler Boebert, 21, was arrested on Sunday and later released on a $10,000 bond, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said without providing additional information. The investigation remains ongoing.

He was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to court records.

The charges stem from a video he allegedly recorded, showing himself having sex with a 17-year-old in 2024 when he was 18. The video was posted on Instagram, which was discovered by the minor’s mother. The affidavit does not say who allegedly posted the video.

“I love my son,” Boebert told TMZ. “We take allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”

The suspect’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 19, according to the entertainment outlet.

BOEBERT HEADS TO NOVEMBER ELECTION AFTER TRUMP CALLED FOR PRIMARY CHALLENGE

This isn’t the first time Tyler Boebert has had a run-in with the law. He was previously arrested on more than 20 charges of vehicle trespass and property theft. That encounter with the police happened in 2024, shortly after he is said to have recorded the revealing video. The prior case remains ongoing.

Boebert is seeking reelection in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District this year after she represented the state’s 3rd Congressional District from 2021 to 2025. Garfield County, where her son was arrested and charged, is located in her former district.
