Hillary Clinton mesmerized by WNBA team mascot ‘Ellie’

.

The elephant was in the room Monday — literally. Former U.S. Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton sat courtside at a WNBA game, seemingly captivated by the mascot.

Clinton attended the New York Liberty game against the Seattle Storm at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. But it wasn’t the game that caught fans’ attention.

During a performance from the Liberty’s dance team, Ellie, the team’s elephant mascot, was seen breaking it down, doing headstands, combined with some leg pops.

The viral video was posted by a user on X.

Dancers and the mascot danced to the “Mississippi Cha Cha Slide,” D.J. Slide marking each step.

Clinton applauded at the beginning of the performance.

She was seen bobbing left and right to the music, grinning from her seat. She tapped her foot along to the beat and tapped her hand on her thigh.

Ellie came dressed in her New York Liberty jersey that said “Ellie” on the back, along with the numbers “00.”

Ellie sported mint-colored Nike sneakers with a black swoosh. The mascot also rocks her iconic braid, which is made of the team’s colors, that she whips and flips along with her Lady Liberty crown.
