Anthony Fauci is set to testify before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

The hearing sets up a face-to-face between the former White House Coronavirus Task Force lead and his longtime skeptic, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who chairs the committee. Paul has for years been critical of Fauci, who led the nation’s early COVID-19 response, pressing the public health official about the origins of the pandemic.
Paul recently released over 1,000 pages of Fauci’s diary, in which he discussed the early days of the pandemic, in the lead-up to Wednesday’s hearing.
