President Donald Trump welcomed the Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House on Thursday to celebrate the team’s back-to-back World Series, praising the players and organization for their historic run.
“Congratulations everyone on this historic trip, this great journey that you’re on,” Trump said. “They’re champions and just unbelievable, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it back again.”
The Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in a seven-game series on Nov. 1, 2025.
Trump highlighted the Dodgers’ dramatic 2025 World Series victory over the Blue Jays, including Shohei Ohtani’s dominant postseason performance and the team’s marathon Game 7 win.
“You have a man on the team who hits perfectly and hit three home runs. … That’s the greatest game ever played by one person because you did the pitching and the hitting,” Trump said.
The Dodgers made the stop at the White House during an off day between series in Philadelphia and New York.
Dodgers President and co-owner Mark Walter thanked Trump for hosting the team and highlighting the organization’s accomplishment of winning consecutive World Series titles, a feat that had not been achieved in more than 30 years.
“We did something that hasn’t been done in over 30 years, going back-to-back World Series champions, and we are going for a three-peat,” Walter said.
“When it comes to winning 11 games in October or 13 last year, these guys all come together unselfishly, and you never know what moment is going to present itself,” Walter added.
The team also presented Trump with a Dodgers jersey and a World Series ring, prompting the president to joke about the gift.

“Do I have to report this? I don’t want to report this,” Trump said, admiring the ring. “That’s beautiful. Thank you very much.”
The Dodgers are currently pursuing a third consecutive World Series title, which would make them the first team to accomplish the feat since the New York Yankees’ championship run in the late 1990s.
